Sheriffs Lodgment Centre -
Data Entry of Claim Cases

The Challenges

SLC receives requests from Solicitors and/or individuals holding a County Court Judgment (CCJ) authorizing the Shergroup team to collect the outstanding debt amounts. SLC may use its authorized High Court Enforcement Officers to execute the debt collection process. Specifically, this authorizes SLC to apply to transfer the CCJ to the Sheriffs for enforcement and for SLC to sign the application form N239A as the creditor's representative.

On the basis of the County Court Judgment and authorization, SLC creates a case and applies first for the Combined Certificate N239A and then the FIFA application.

  • Maintaining a workforce for regular entry of data including the Claim number, Solicitor's details, payment mode, Claimant's details Defendant's details and the details of the debt amount to be recovered which includes the original amount against the Defendant and the Fixed cost assessed to be paid after the judgment has been issued
  • Since the system is linked to multiple different systems, making any changes on the case is critical as it reflects on other software too
  • Entering all the Cases received and undertaking Quality Check on the same. SLC also maintains the quality of inputs, ensuring 100% Quality Check
  • Making sure that each and every word, which is fed into the software, is accurate. For example, the address. This includes the Towns and Counties along with the postcodes. The accuracy of the details is very crucial for the process since the High Court Judgment is issued on these details
  • Incase the postcodes do not match, we find out through special sites like the Royal Mail
  • Retrieving all the cases in the form of scanned images from London Office and then working on those cases
  • To understand the relevant information, each executive has to read the handwritten text on the track form in most of the Cases
  • Searching the details of the Solicitors stored in the system
